Green Flag Wizard is a design ideas bank. Our ready-to-use or customized ideas can help small enterprises to go global with innovative and well-crafted lifestyle products. As the name indicates, these products are elegant, affordable with easily replaceable parts to remain energy efficient and eco-friendly during manufacturing and use in everyday life. We share your enthusiasm to heal the world.
Technology or environment? I have had my share of introspection. Though I marvel the advancement of technology, my heart beats for the butterfly. Yet at Green Flag Wizard I have set no priorities. Candidly speaking, I think or work on anything that fascinates me. It can be an idea, a product or a way of life. I love to reinvent products of daily use to make them eco - friendly, efficient and affordable. Develop and implement economic and earth friendly projects. Bring villages and tribal crafts men to create unique and useful products by providing design inputs. These are my current priorities. I am in the process of patenting more than 20 products/ designs, which will appear in this site eventually. To start with, a few samplers are posted here for you to see. Most of these products and projects are intended for Asia, Africa and Latin America — In short for ordinary people. You are welcome to write to me if you are interested in trying out any of these on an industrial scale. One thing I can assure you, you will see more butterflies and a bluer sky while we walk along.
As a young boy I remember watching a native version of drip irrigation in my village. Earthen pots with lids were embedded close to newly planted fruit trees. The pots were filled with water and closed every morning. Water would trickle through a pin hole drilled in each pot, all through the day, wetting the plant roots. Since the water percolates down very little of it vaporizes. This stops water taken away by the dry wind from the top soil. We can reintroduce this native idea by using discarded tyres and PET bottles that are available in abundance. This irrigation technique is ideal to grow short term crops and also to green /reclaim semi-arid lands. You can see an actual tree surviving the Delhi summer with minimal inputs. P.E.T. A TREE can be introduced to schools and urban nurseries as a green project
Few years back we had a series of blasts in New Delhi. Low intensity bombs were placed in litter bins at many
points harming pedestrians.
I have designed a low cost litter bin. The design uses coated automobile tyres as its exterior cover.
It is an eco- friendly product as it uses discarded automobile tyres.
Can contain low intensity explosions and retard shrapnel.
Mounted on concrete stump to avoid displacements and theft — common in third world countries.
Has a fixed lid that allows only litter to go in — not a bomb.
Do not allow mosquitoes to breed during rains due to its open bottom design.
Can be rotated / tilted to open and clean.
Here are some more areas we are working on.
An ultra-light helmet that dissipates impact.
An easy to wear neck collar to take away the strain while you work long at your computer.
An elegant desert Cooler that is wafer thin and consumes 50% less energy and water. Do not breed mosquitos.
This can be a cost effective cooling alternate for the urban poor in acute summers.
Design to replace wooden and paper board cartons
to move vegetables, fruits and industrial products saving trees.
Storing alternate energy (solar power) without using battery.
And more smart and cost effective designs to reduce energy consumption.
By 2020 we will have 1.5 billion vehicles on our roads. They run on conventional pneumatic tyres.
We use less than 20% of an automobile tyre and the rest is dumped!
We are in the process of reinventing a tyre that leaves lesser wastage and can fit into existing wheel base.
This also has a very low rolling resistance and can save nearly 40% energy in low speed electric vehicles.
This vehicle project is meant for crowded urban roads in the developing countries.
The Bubble Cab is extremely light, yet reasonably strong and designed to take on
the road conditions of developing countries and is fitted with low rolling resistance tyres to prolong battery usage.
During my travel as a documentary film maker for 20 years I have come across many interesting people.
A village woman who has planted and nurtured thousands of trees all alone.
A Gujarat farmer who combined forestry and farming to create a wonderful habitat.
A group of women from Jharkhand who patrol the forest to save it from the timber mafia.
To me they are no less than Angelina Jolie, Bill Gates or Warren Buffett.
They all have resolved to care and inspire.
Thank you
